Fees and Funding

Funding options

  • Better Access to Mental Health Care, or Mental Health Care Plan

This initiative provides up to 10 individual sessions and 10 group therapy sessions per calendar year with a registered psychologist. To access this, you’ll need a referral and Mental Health Care Plan from a GP addressed to Glowing Minds Psychology.

  • Many private health insurance plans offer rebates or partial coverage for psychological services. The level of coverage and rebate depends on your specific policy and provider.

If you would like to pre-determine how much your private health will cover, simply check with your health insurer before our first session. The item code for a psychology session is 200.

  • We provide services to plan managed and self-managed NDIS participants.

Unfortunately, Glowing Minds Psychology does not provide services to agency-managed clients.

If you are eligible for NDIS support and have a plan that includes funding for psychological services (generally under Capacity Building / Improved Daily Living), you can use these funds to cover the cost of sessions.

  • You can pay out-of-pocket for psychological services. This allows you to choose a psychologist based on personal preference and schedule without restrictions from third-party funding sources.

Therapy Service Fees

  • If you have a valid Mental Health Care Plan and referral, you are eligible to access rebates on up to 10 sessions with a psychologist in a calendar year. The cost of a session is currently $240. The Medicare rebate is currently $141.85. That means, the average out-of-pocket expense per session is $98.15.

  • Unfortunately, Glowing Minds Psychology does not provide services to agency-managed clients.

As per the NDIS Price Guide, Psychology sessions for Improved Daily Living psychology and Early Intervention Psychology appointments are $244.22.

  • The cost of an appointment at Glowing Minds Psychology is $240. You can claim with your private health insurer after your appointment. Please be aware you cannot claim both private health and Medicare for each session. If you would like to pre-determine how much your private health will cover, use the item code 200 to check with your private health insurer.

After each psychology session, you will be sent a receipt from Glowing Minds Psychology. You can then submit your claim through your health insurance provider's online portal, mobile app, or by mailing in a claim form. Once your claim is processed, your health fund will reimburse you based on your coverage level.
